Whenever I get into arguments about health care. One of the first rationales proffered for our excessive expenditures is that we "have the bestest hospitals in the world". Generally I just state that yes, we do have some of the finest hospitals in the world, but in the aggregate we are not getting much better care for the money we spend. This is generally met with derision, cause everything the US does is "better". Even though we have demonstrable evidence that we could
be doing much more to bring down costs.
So that brings us to the chart of the day (via the Dish): How Hospitals Harm Us
